Telechron 7H91 Electric Alarm Clock, circa 1930-40
This is a vintage (circa 1930-1940 I believe) Telechron model 7H91 electric alarm clock made by Telechron Co. The clock has a sweep seconds hand, alarm/silent control, and power failure indicator. The case is an ivory color but I'm not sure just what the material is (celluloid?). I can see no broken insulation or bare wires (I didn't look inside). The plug is a replacement and I don't know about the cord. This item is as received from an estate auction on Feb. 16, 2009. I plugged it in and it seems to run fine, no motor noise and the alarm buzzer functions. There are a few scuffs as can be seen in the pictures, a little green on some of the brass heads, and a little stress cracking around the screw heads that hold it together but it seems pretty solid. I'm not sure what's so special about this little clock but it sold for $103, which was considerably more than I expected.
